OK, the cruise steward is holding a gun on a well-dressed guy while going through the drawers of the stateroom's dresser. Outside, a woman is holding a diamond bracelet and some other stuff, while hanging by her right hand from a rope (presumably dropped over the side of the ship to get access through the porthole). You'll have to read The Gallivanting Ghoul by Norman A. Daniels to find out what's going on.
