A monthly magazine aimed at families living in the American South, UNCLE REMUS'S HOME MAGAZINE was founded by and edited from 1907 until his death in July, 1908 by Joel Chandler Harris, best known for his collected southern black folk tales in the "Uncle Remus" tradition. It seems in 1909 to have incorporated THE HOME magazine, about which we currently know not much. We place it here in the Monthly Magazines section, although its content could easily also place it in the Women's Magazines section. After Harris's death, the magazine was edited by his son Julian; but it folded in 1913. Here's the entire November, 1908 issue, online at the University of Florida, if you're curious about its contents.
