Ad for Cream of Wheat cereal, published in the October, 1913 issue of the LADIES' HOME JOURNAL. A group of kids that could have stepped right out of the "Our Gang" comedies listens to one of their number propounding politically, or perhaps about breakfast cereal. One of the black kids in "Our Gang" was named Farina, and another was named Buckwheat, and neither of these became the black cook featured in many other Cream of Wheat ads
