The building of American locomotives. "Old Ironsides," 1832, the first engine built by Baldwin. Four-cylinder compound. Special machine for simultaneously boring high-pressure and low-pressure cylinders and steam chest. The foundry, showing flasks for compound cylinders. Double-head machine slotting two pairs of engine frames. In the erecting shop; lining up the cylinders.
