Leslie's Weekly 1918-04-27

An angry Uncle Sam is at bat, as a baseball with the face of the Kaiser on it is just about to get blasted out of the park. The baseball motif, with the red sun in the background, looks like homage to SHORT STORIES. The pulp adventure magazine in 1917 had begun putting a giant red sun on each of its covers -- and continued to do so until the mid-1950's!
