People's Popular Monthly

An inexpensive monthly aimed primarily at women, this magazine is described thusly by Frank Luther Mott (V. IV, p.367): "In Des Moines, the PEOPLE'S POPULAR MONTHLY (1896-1931) at first emphasized current events, and later household departments." He classified it as one of the "mail-order magazines," created as a vehicle for advertisements and sold widely at a low price.
