Life 1919-07-03

Puritan joy-spoiler with required umbrella sits on the gravestone marking the death of Alcohol, killed by the 18th Amendment on July 1, 1919. Around him are similarly bleak tombstones for Baseball, Tobacco, Golf, and Chewing Gum. No fun. "All, All Are Gone. The Old Familiar Faces."
