Cream of Wheat -1918B

OK, a racist stereotype is here confounded, in "A Case of Desertion" as the little black boy reaches for the bowl of Cream of Wheat in preference to his expected watermelon. Way to go, eh; but par for the course in 1918. Published in the July 27, 1918 issue of the LITERARY DIGEST.
